Both of the cases (the 6-inch and 6.5-inch) are similar in style and features, with matte finish. They blend in very well with the phones. The cases' edges have soft rubber feel, but the corners are hard plastic/rubber (I assume for shock-proof functionality). I cannot speak for the longevity of the protection at this point since I have not had these cases for too long; but for the few times the phone dropped out of my pocket onto the hardwood floor while sitting down, the phone was protected.
